Our Five-Step Paving Process for Driveways

Here at Knights Paving and Landscaping, we understand the important functions that a driveway provides to a house. We’ve developed our five-step paving process to ensure that all of our customers can get a bespoke design that will last them a lifetime. We can guarantee our driveways will last a lifetime due to the experience of our team of skilled pavers, the quality of the materials we use and the way we go about our work.

Our Five-Step Process Broken Down

1. Making Decisions

We work with our customers to come up with a driveway design that works for them. We advise all our customers on the materials, pattern and layout, and draw sketches so you can bring your dream driveway to life. This in-depth planning has allowed us to create some of the brilliant driveways featured in our gallery.

2. Removing your Existing Surface

Don’t worry if you have an existing driveway surface, our team will take it away. We are all properly trained in operating the relevant machinery for breaking up concrete or digging out tree roots. No matter the design of your driveway we will excavate to a suitable depth to allow the base to be laid.

3. Laying the Concrete Base

To ensure the long-term stability of our driveways, we do all of our paving work on concrete foundations. We use a fast-drying lean mix of concrete that’s chemically bonded for resilience and only uses around 5% water. This water content means that we can guarantee it will last a lifetime as the concrete won’t be too brittle or too runny.

4. Laying your Paving

Our team are specialists. Unlike some builders, paving is what we do all year round. Laying your driveway won’t take long, but ensuring a completely flat and even finish takes a considerable amount of experience. Here at Knights, we have all the experience needed within our team of craftsmen, meaning when we do it, we do it right.

5. The Finishing Touches

Being perfectionists, we will cut any bricks and slabs to exactly the right size and add the finishing touches to perfectly complement your driveway design. To ensure that all our driveways last you a lifetime, we apply a commercial grade sealant to protect your driveway. As you would expect, all of our sites are left clean and tidy – leaving you with the perfect driveway.
